A reminder of the intention behind our practice, and its importance

A Zen centre in the USA has the following daily recitation:

We are here to end suffering. 

If ending suffering is more important than anything, we will end suffering.

If ending suffering is not more important than anything, we will not end suffering.

    This is a great reminder! If we are ready to practice Dharma for the day, what is the reason that we actually want to practice. Sometimes the right reason can be void for most of our minds.

  2. i find contemplating this is peaceful, this brings me peace , what will be will be. acceptence brings peace.
